Earlier
today (Tuesday), a renowned Uyo, Akwa-Ibom based catholic priest and radio
preacher known as Reverend Fr. Patrick Henry Edet, dropped a bombshell after he
announced his voluntary resignation from Catholic Church.
And
he is “SO HAPPY THAT HE’S FREE!". But ‘FREE’ from what or ‘FREE’ to do
what exactly?

Assistant on Media to Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Aniekeme Finbarr in an
online post wrote: ''JUST IN: Catholic
Priest, Reverend Fr. Patrick Henry Edet has resigned from the catholic
priesthood, quits the Catholic Church. He says he should be addressed as
Reverend Patrick Edet. And on a lighter note, he says he can still be called
Fr.”

Mr.
Finbarr added the following, believed to have been written by the former Catholic
Priest: “From Today (Tuesday, August 2, 2017) Henceforth, I [Reverend Fr.
Patrick Henry Edet], cease to be a Catholic Priest, in my spirit and in my
soul... I forgive those who will criticize me, I live for God...I seek freedom
for my soul (was he enslaved?). As I leave, I leave smiling; I AM SO HAPPY THAT
I AM FREE".
Well,
we can only wish him the best in the new-found joy.
