Before his Kidnap, Beneke was last seen, he was at a gas station with two unknown men
The body of Martin Beneke, a South African pastor who was kidnapped recently, was found “burned beyond recognition” with his hands tied in a rural town about 50 miles outside of Johannesburg.

Investigations by local authorities show that Pastor Beneke had been kidnapped.

45-year-old Beneke was the senior pastor and founder of the Johannesburg-based Life in Christ Network. He was discovered on a Magaliesburg farm this Monday when a local farmer noticed smoke and found Beneke’s Nissan truck on fire.

Along with a description of the crime scene, Gauteng police spokesperson Kay Makhubela said in a statement, “The motive is unknown and at the moment no arrests have been made. He was reported missing on Monday this week by his family after he did not come back home that night.”

When Beneke was last seen, he was at a gas station on 14th Avenue in Johannesburg with two unknown men, according to the Roodepoort Record.

On Wednesday, his church, Life in Christ Network, confirmed Beneke’s passing in a Facebook post:

"It is with heavy sadness & sorrow that we have to inform everyone that the Founder & Head Pastor of LICN; Pastor Martin, has passed away on Monday 16 October 2017," Life in Christ Network wrote on its official Facebook page. "There are still so many questions we have and answers we need but we trust the process. Thank you to each and everyone who are supporting his wife, two daughters and family. We appreciate it," it addad.
