Catholic priest Father Mbaka accuses Enugu Rangers FC of fetish dealings, demands a refund of his N2m donation

Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka
Reports have it that popular Nigerian Catholic priest and
Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry, Enugu State, Rev.
Fr. Ejike Mbaka, has demanded for his N2 million donation he
made to a local football club 'The Rangers International FC
of Enugu (Enugu Rangers FC).

The sport-loving Catholic priest reportedly made the
donation after his darling club won the Nigeria Professional
football league title last season.

According to the Vanguard, the controversial priest was
angered after he realised that his donation went to the
wrong hands. He also blamed the club's failure to retain the
Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) title during
the just concluded season due to their 'fetish practices
before matches'.

“He has given the dissolved management two weeks to give him
back the money, so that he could share the money to the
players himself,” a source close to the Catholic priest said.

Just last week, Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi
fired the management and board of Rangers International FC
of Enugu for failing to retain this year's title.

At the just concluded 2016/ 2017 NPFL season, the Enugu Rangers
who won last season's League trophy were only able to finish at the
mid-table. Plateau United were crowned champions of the 2017
Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) after beating visiting
and former champions Enugu Rangers 2-0 on Saturday, September 9.
