The Catholic Conference of Nigeria took to its official Facebook page to share images of Virgin Mary appearing during its National Marian Congress which held a few days ago in Benin City, Edo state.

The photographs were accompanied with the following captions:

'History has repeated itself here in Benin City (Edo state), Nigeria during the National Marian Congress. What happened 100 years ago at Fatima, Portugal - reoccurred on 13th October, 2017. What a great miracle from our mother Mary, Our Lady of Fatima.'

So, what really happened 100yrs ago in Fatima, Portugal during and after Virgin Mary's  (Marian) apparition?

On May 13, 1917, the blessed Virgin Mary appeared to three village children as 'a lady dressed in white, shining brighter than the sun, giving out rays of clear and intense light,' and transform Fatima from an ordinary village to the site of a Catholic shrine venerated and visited by millions.

The children (Lucia Abobora, 9, and her cousins, Jacinta and Francisco Marto, 6 and 7) were tending a flock of sheep outside the tiny village of Fatima, Portugal, when they first saw the angel. 'He was transparent and shining like a crystal,' the children who later became saints, testified.
